How To Podcast?
Podcasting is a
very easy process and you can simply make
your first podcast in a very short period
of time. Today podcast creation softwares
have made the task much simple than before.
In fact creating and distributing podcasts
has become an internet phenomenon today. Let’s
have a look at creating your first audio podcast.
The audio podcast can be anything from radio,
interviews and even sermon. You can experiment
with anything as long as you are satisfied
with the final result.
There are hundreds of softwares available
on the internet today for creation of your
podcast. There are open source softwares also
like Audacity that can be freely downloaded
from the internet. You can simply mix all
your audio files with just a click of a button.
In case you have a Macintosh system then the
best choice is GarageBand. The audio files
that you have compiled should be saved at
high quality so that you can edit them in
the future if you want to. However for podcasting
you will have to convert your audio file to
MP3 file so that the file size is reduced
considerably. In fact the MP3 format is the
standard format for podcasting and it is best
to stick to this format.
Some users might not be able to use your podcasts
if they are in a format other than MP3. for
mono type of recording you can use a bit rate
between 48k and 56k. Mono recording can be
used for talk radio, audio books and sermons.
For stereo files like those of music and talk
combinations you can use a bit rate of 64k+.
for stereo of good quality music you can select
the bit rate of 128k.
You can then save your files and upload them
to a web server. However it is best to test
them on an MP3 player before uploading them.
It is best to put your files in categories
so that people can find them easily. You can
also create podcast feeds that consist of
RSS files that provide description of your
podcast. The RSS file is in text format and
it is linked to the MP3 file. You can use
any text editor like Notepad or Editplus to
create the RSS feed. Many people also generate
newsfeeds automatically by using blogging
programs or other applications. Make use of
blogging tools that support enclosures so
that just have to create an item for each
MP3 file.
